Beyond the symbolism of the Eye of Horus Silver Charm TCM671
The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol believed to be an effective source of protection and a symbol of strength and perfection. Horus was the ancient Egyptian sky god who was usually depicted as a falcon, or with a Falcon’s head. The eye is personified in the goddess Wadjet also known as “The Eye of Ra,” which originates from the struggle between Horus and Seth. In the said fight, Horus loses his left eye which is taken by Seth, but then Horus acquires spiritual sight, the eye of light. The eye was later healed by Thoth and returned to Horus which is now known as Wadjet.
The Eye of Horus, in fact, is in all of us. It is represented as a figure with six parts corresponding to our six senses – touch, taste, hearing, thought, sight, and smell. The Right Eye of Horus represents concrete information controlled by the left brain. It deals with words, letters, and numbers and those things which are written in sentences or complete thoughts. The Left Eye of Horus, on the other hand, represents abstract aesthetic information controlled by the right brain. It deals with esoteric thoughts and feelings and is responsible for intuition.
